"blood thinners" (e.g., warfarin),
tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, clomipramine),
azole antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole),
propranolol.

diazepam,
cyclosporine,
theophylline,

Modafanil may interfere with the effectiveness of hormone-type birth control. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any drug without your pharmacist approval.

Keep Modafanil in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store Modafanil at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your doctor about the proper disposal of your medication.

Store Modafanil in a safe place so that no one else can take it accidentally or on purpose. Keep track of how many tablets are left so you will know if any are missing.

Modafanil, a small, white and slightly oblong pill taken orally, is the first in a new class of wake-promoting drugs. Originally approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1999 for the treatment of EDS associated with narcolepsy, today Modafanil is the only FDA-approved prescription medicine for treatment of excessive sleepiness associated with OSAHS and SWSD.
